In 1978, TKE officially joined Danny Thomas, distinguished alumnus and founder of St. Jude, in the fight against childhood cancer. Now, 30 years later, we are committed to this amazing cause and will strive to continue the pledge set forth by our fellow brothers.

St. Jude is unlike any other pediatric treatment and research facility. Discoveries made here have completely changed how the world treats children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. With research and patient care under one roof, St. Jude is where some of today's most gifted researchers are able to work at the frontiers of the mission to find a cure. The Research Hospital aims to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay.

We believe that it is crucial for our members to participate in a variety of philanthropic and community service oriented events. Outside of our highway cleanups and pantry hours, the brothers of Tau Kappa Epsilon at UC Davis host our biggest philanthropic event every year in Winter.

Dubbed TKE Sweetheart, the week long event leads up to a pageant in which one representative from each Panhellenic sorority on campus compete in an effort to raise money for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
